Japan ranks 108th in the world for gender equality

The 2025 Gender Gap Report, which ranks 148 countries in terms of gender equality, was released, and Japan ranked 118th.This is the same ranking as last year, with a decrease in the number of female cabinet ministers and fewer women in management positions contributing to the low ranking.Japan continued to rank last among the Group of Seven (G7) industrialized nations. It is second from the bottom, far behind Italy, which ranked 85th.

The gender disparity is often talked about, but I was very surprised to learn that there is such a large gap compared to the rest of the world.I hope that countries with higher rankings will take a lesson from this.
